The Farm Chicks Show

 
It's that time of year! The Farm Chicks Antique Show is right around the corner...June 4th and 5th at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center. The annual show is host to over 200 of the best antique dealers in the country!

 

You don't want to miss this event! There will be gorgeous displays and booths filled to the brim with the most incredible goods. These vendors save their cream of the crop just for this show. And let me tell you from experience, my dear friend Serena sure knows how to put on an amazing event!

 

I will be there Saturday and Sunday along with Ki Nassauer for a Meet & Greet and Flea Market Style Magazine signing with plenty of copies of our latest issue on hand. We hope you stop by and say hello. We would love to meet you!

 

 
Also making a guest appearance is my good friend Jenny Doh. She'll be signing copies of her incredible new book Signature Styles. Can't wait to see her myself!

I hope you are making plans to come to the show. I'll be bringing an extra suitcase...or maybe two. Oh, who am I kidding. I'll probably need to find the local UPS store!

Garden Roses

One of the stars in my garden is a floribunda spray rose I planted when we first bought our house years ago. I wish I remembered the name because I would love to buy a few more. The blossoms and buds start out a pale salmon pink and then fade to a blush white. They're so lovely!

  

One of the beautiful things about spray roses (also known as cluster roses) is that each stem will be filled with 6-10 flowers. It's like an instant bouquet! Often times I just add a few cuttings from my garden shrubs to fill out the arrangement.
 
 

The petals on this rose bush also remind me of old fashioned dogwood blossoms and I remember my great grandmother Tessie Faye loved dogwood trees. Maybe that's why I'm so fond of this rose. Sweet memories of her.

Hello, Hello

 
 
Hi Everyone! Just got back from a 5 day trip to Georgia to style & shoot an amazing farmhouse. The homeowners style is very unique and so creative. I loved being there. Can't wait for you to see it in the fall issue of FMS!

Back on the homestead, Lola is still laying freaky shell-less eggs. She's getting good care, healthy food & water and plenty of free ranging...go figure. And now her sister, Marshmallow has decided to brood on the nest all day long. My girls are very strange this spring. Thank you all for your great comments and words of advise. Very helpful and encouraging! 

This week I'm doing a shoot with Country Living at my house which will be keeping me busy...but the fun kind of busy. Next week, I plan on taking 2 days off...in a row. Sounds so extravagant to me.
